Sumba is an island in East Nusa Tenggara Province,
Indonesia. Sumba bordering northwest Sumbawa, Flores in the northeast, Timor in
the east, and Australia in the south and southeast. Sumba society racially a
mixture of Mongoloid race and melanesoid. Most of the population adheres Marapu
animism and Christianity, both Protestant and Catholic. Muslims in small
amounts can be found along the coastal areas. Sumba island, as is generally the
region of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), known as the minus and dry. But behind
these conditions, Sumba has tremendous potential. Sumba has a savannah, horses
Sandel, abundant energy resources, as well as world's most expensive tree
species (sandalwood). Although best known as a dry area but sumba save a lot of
natural beauty and culture untouched.
Weekuri Lake, West Sumba
The uniqueness of this lake is the salty water, if the water

Merapu is a religion or local beliefs adopted by the people
on this island. More than half the population of Sumba this religion. Adherents
of this religion, believe that life on earth is only temporary and after the
end of time they will live eternally in the spirit world, which is in heaven

Pasola

Waterfall, Central Sumba
Besides the beauty of the beach, Sumba also keeps the charm
of a charming waterfall in Waimanu Village, District Katikutana, Central Sumba.
Matayangu waterfall is very popular among foreign tourists.
