Komodo Island


Komodo Island is an island located in the Nusa Tenggara Islands. Komodo Island is known as a natural habitat for Komodo. The island is also the Komodo National Park which is managed by the Central Government. Komodo Island is located east of Sumbawa Island, separated by the Sape Strait. Not only dragons, the island also store variety of exotic flora, Sepang wood by local people used as medicine and dye clothing, tree nitak or sterculia oblongata in believe are useful as drugs, and the seeds are tasty and delicious like peas. Additionally, you can also enjoy the exquisite beach on the island of the Komodo and Rinca. Exoticism that are truly amazing will make all eyes amazed by its beauty. With a sea of white sand and waves and rocks ornaments that add beauty of the beach.


If we usually play on the sandy shore brown, or white, this time we will find a beach with pink sand. There are only seven pieces of pink sandy beaches in the world, one of them on the island of Komodo. The pink sand is a mixture of white and red sand. The color red itself is said comes from the crushed flakes of red coral. Either way, the beach is still very clean and beautiful.


Not only enjoy its beauty, you can also dive and watch the underwater panorama. Here we can see 277 species of animal which is a mix of animals from Asia and Australia. In addition, for those who like snorkeling, here is also a paradise for fish and coral reefs. There are at least 253 species of reef-building corals, 70 species of sponge, and 1,000 species of fish. That's where life dugong, sharks, 14 species of whales, dolphins, and turtles. Komodo Island is also accepted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
