Rambu Tuka’( ceremonial thanksgiving)



One of the traditional Toraja sacred and can not be lost from the middle of Toraja society and has been done for generations is Rambu Tuka' is a traditional ceremony that put more emphasis on thanksgiving. In this ceremony, it will not be found any sorrow or wailing cry. Only your excitement and joy. The ceremony is usually held at events such as weddings, thanksgiving for the harvest, or the inauguration of a Tongkonan. In this event, all the family would gather clumps and served as an strengthen the relationships between families.
Some ceremonies are often held is Ma'Bua, Meroek, or Mangrara Banua Sura'.Ma'Bua is a show ofgratitude for the home or any blessing is obtained and in its implementation involves the family grove. Meroek also an occasion of gratitude for a new home and another blessing but its implementation involves a lot of people, not only from the family grove. While Mangrara Banua Sura 'is a show of gratitude for a new home only by the scope of the family of the new residents.
For the implementation time, Rambu Tuka'  ceremony performed in the morning or before noon arrived and located on the east Tongkonan. It is certainly different from the Rambu Solo 'held during the day and housed in the west Tongkonan.
